Stationery Box Set for My College Roommate!

Click on any of the pictures to get a full-screen view!

This is the card I made for my roomate, just to give her a pick-me-up.

This is the Stationery Box I made for her, with cards to send to her Mom!
I used lots of my pink ribbon, and pink eyelash yarn, as well as the DCWV Butterflies and Blooms paper and the Chipboard pieces that coordinate! I found them with some luck one day... and they are PERFECT here!

This first set of small cards are 'leftover' pieces from cutting down the A2 cards.... and they just make cute little notes to attach to anything, so I decorated and included them!
These are also the A2 size, cut down to fit in the front of the Stationery Box. They're called Love Notes! I also used my Crafter's Companion to make the envelopes for these small cards.

These 12 cards are A2 sized, and in addition to all the butterflies here, I also stamped the envelopes with my SU 2 step Butterfly set. One of the cards, I took a huge long piece of the eyelash yarn and wrapped and wrapped and wrapped! I think it looks SO cute!

I also have this really cute flowered ribbon, and the sentiment just went perfectly behind it and shows through the sheer ribbon.

The Define Your Life set of stamps was perfect for this, since they're uplifting definitions, just perfect for pick-me-ups!!

As you can see, the sentiments on the fronts of the cards are all Stampin' Up with lots of different color inks. I want to thank all the ebayers I've been purchasing retired sets and current sets at better prices! I so appreciate that, because then I can add such nice details to my cards!!!

Please Enjoy!

Stampin' Up Club! ~ July Project!

We got to use the new In-color... Melon Mambo! I sure love this color in person!! It's 4 places on the card, so you can see the different 'uses'. Background cardstock, the polka-dot ribbon, the larger circle with the white dotted accents, and the flowers stamped on the butterfly image are all Melon Mambo. Don't you LOVE it!!??

We also added detail by stamping a VERY light pink shadow behind the butterfly.

One of the ladies in our club requested learning the technique of using the Color Spritzer Tool.
Can you see the Chocolate Chip and Turquoise "spattered" elements on the card background? It just adds something... and is a ton of fun to do!!!

We also used the brass template to emboss the flowers on the main image. I'm sorry you can't see that here, but it's very nice in person!!

Please enjoy!!

Tracy's Christmas Challenge - July!!

Our Christmas card challenge for July was to:

1. Make 5 cards, as always,
2. NO layers!

I had to wrack my brains on this one! I'm at the point where I'm actually using many layers to make my cards and creations, and then Tracy decides NO layers!!! UGH! :)

Luckily, I had this gorgeous Stampin' Up stamp set from last Christmas to use! SO, on a blank A7 (5 in. x 7 in.) I stamped my 2 images, and watercolored them! I do love doing the watercoloring! When I was finished, I colored in the lights in the garland with my SU markers, and stickled them with the Crystal stickles. It really works great on the 'snow' too!

I had a background snowy swirly stamp from Inkadinkado that I used with the Bashful Blue ink to add some interest, without adding layers!

I hope you enjoy.

Tracy's Christmas Challenge - June!! Yes, it's late, but it's DONE!!

The layers for the snow at the bottom just wouldn't cut, so I got out my Liquid Applique. WOW is that stuff AWESOME for snow effects! I let it dry, and the got out my heat embossing gun... it looks JUST like snow! I hope you can see it in the picture!!

So our Christmas card challenge for June was to:
1. Make 5 cards, as always
2. All cards must use the same main image but do not necessarily need to be all alike.
3. make a card using a different fold other than just an A2 or A7 card.

Originally, I was going to make a Joy Fold card - I found these on someone's blog, and searched out the directions on SplitCoast Stampers. If you look down on my blog through some of my Lime Light Design Team posts, you'll see 2 Joy Fold cards I made.

I actually had these Stairstep card forms waiting for me since last Christmas, and decided since I had that AWESOME Christmas Solutions cart, I just had to use it!!!

Many years ago, I would have my students color victorian style houses, and we would make a Christmas night scene either on our back wall in the classroom, or down the hallway at the school. I had a Santa flying on his reindeer silhouetted on the moon, and either black or dk. blue paper as a background, and snowflakes falling. With the cuts on this cart, it reminds me so much of those years!!!

THANKS Tracy!

Tracy's Christmas Challenge - May!! Yes, late, but DONE!

So our challenge this month of May was to:
1. Make 5 cards as always.
2. The main image is to be the sentiment.
3. Use as much or as little pink as you like, but it must include some pink!

So truthfully, I wasn't so crazy about this challenge... and put it off, as well as finishing up the school year and being exhausted with all of that going on....

When I finally sat down to do these, I remembered I had bought a stack of Christmas paper a LONG time ago, and recalled that there was pink paper in that stack! I also remember thinking with attitude, WHY would someone put pink paper in a Christmas stack!!!! I mean, I can understand blue or purple along with the reds and greens.... but pink!!?? Now I sure am glad they did it!!

These are my very late May Christmas Challenge cards.

Cards for Soldiers "Free Reign" 7/6 - 7/24

WHY did I include every single picture in this post???
To show what a difference the background makes!!!
Every single cut is exactly the same, size, color, etc.
I cut the Sesame Street characters all at 4 inches,
the 1 year old balloons are 4 inches, and all the rest
are 3 inches. The Happy Birthday cut is 1.5 x 2.25 inches.

YES, I cut 105 balloons, and the blackout to adhere behind the stars! :) :)

So, take a look, and see what a huge difference just the background paper makes!!!

I was very careful not to use blue paper behind Cookie, no red paper behind Elmo, and no yellow paper behind Big Bird.

Plus, I thought they were pretty adorable, so I wanted to share.
30 cards in all! Do you see the pattern??

There are 3 big bird cards with blue polka-dots, so I just included the one picture here.

I used this as a time-saver: I cut all the eyes, noses, etc. in white, and colored them with my Stampin' Up markers... What a life-saver!! I used real red, pixie pink, only orange, and close to cocoa. Can you see them??

Please enjoy!!
