2017 Annual Calendar Project July - September

Here are three more of the calendars.

The backgrounds measure 4 1/4 inch by 7 1/4 inch.  I ordered cases from a website called calendar-case.com (or something like that)  These calendar pieces fit the landscape design.
As always, July MUST have fireworks!  I also got out a favorite stamp; God Bless America.  I used the new watercolor pencils on it - SO pretty!
I had more hot air balloons stamped and cut to add to the August page and didn't.  Looking at it more and more, I feel I should have added those other balloons.
THIS is one of my very favorite designs this year!  I LOVED it when I first saw it on Pinterest a year or two (or more) ago!  It uses gorgeous grunge, and the stamp set Gently Falling.  YES, I fussy cut each of the leaves - the other leaf dies I have were too big!

2016 Calendar July - September

Of course we have some red, white, and blue for July!  I used the stamp set "Work of Art" to make the flag representation.  Mom punched little stars for the blue field, and the 'let freedom ring' is glittered.

As kids we used to catch lightning bugs, put them in one of Mom's quart jars and give them to Verna, the lady down the road.  We know she let them loose, but she never told!  Here you have some lightning bugs and I used some glow-in-the-dark paint on their little tails.
I enjoy this arrangement of leaves on the September calendar.  Growing up, September is when the trees were turning and losing their leaves.  Where I live now, I just have to wait a little longer for that to happen.

2014 Calendar - July

July, 2014

I always enjoy the July calendar!  I think the July 2013 is still one of my favorites.  This technique also came from my stamp club!  We used it on a card one month, and as I thought about designs I used the basic technique and added a few touches.

THANKS to Robin and Kathy for the ideas!

Michael's has packs of ribbon and twine in large packs of 15 to 20 spools all in different colors.  The red and blue polka dotted ribbon worked perfectly with this design, and after dove-tailing all the pieces, I discovered it was adhesive as well!  It wasn't planned, but turned out to be a great time saver.

Just as I'm writing the post for this page, I've already got an idea to make the fireworks better for the 2015 calendar.  :)

2013 CD Case Calendars - July/August

I think of the 12 calendars, these two are among my favorites.  This is again one of those things where you can't see all the details as well as in person...  especially July.  It's really sparkly!

I spent quite a few months hunting for the vertical stars for the July calendar.  They were perfect, but a little hard to find.  Definitely worth the effort!

My parents have been feeding birds at the house since I can remember, and finches happen to be one of their most prolific eaters.  I saw this idea on a Stampin' Up Demo's site, and with a few changes, it made its way here.  The butterflies come from a Stampin' Up die I actually use pretty often.

Please leave a comment. Thanks so much!

2012 CD Case Calendars - My Annual Project/Gifts

Here are the next 3 months. Why am I posting them in 3 month increments? Experience. At the beginning, I would post all 12 months in one, and the labels section doesn't allow for as many characters as I needed, so I've broken them up into different sections, and don't have that problem any more.

I wanted to add some more flash to my July design this year, so I got out my Stand and Salute cart and found fireworks!!! We used the Cuttlebug and embossed the USA piece, and I added blue stickles to the country cut-out. It's only cut in white, and the red background shows through nicely for the red stripes. :)

I went crazy this summer over this color combination! I was playing one of my Facebook games, and came upon this color combo. LOVE it!!!
Turquoise, Yellow, Purple, Melon, and Peach. My dear friend Melissa LOVES the pineapple drink, so here it is!!! LOVE it in these colors!

Martha Stewart leaf punch makes up the border for September, and I found this stamp set from Stampin' Up on ebay. I watercolored them and inked the edges of the Decorator's Label punch. LOVE the falling leaves!

The last 3 months will post tomorrow morning! They are my favorites of all 12!

Your comments are always appreciated!

Altered Notebook for a Journal!!

Bryce is a Kindergartener this year, and son of one of my very dear friends. He's a very bright precocious little boy and his Mom keeps him on his toes when it comes to school. His principal requested that he start journaling, and when Gwenn (his mom) told me, I knew we had to make him a journal.

He picked out all the papers at home - then when they came over, while Gwenn and I were talking he chose all the images, and we put together this notebook for his journal. I know he loves it already because he chose all the papers and images. :) :)

Here is Bryce (Kindergartener) and his baby brother Chase (9 months).
They are both WONDERFUL boys... showing what good parents they've got!!
GREAT job, Gwenn and Justin!

Altered Notebooks for my Dear Friend

My friend goes to Hawaii every Christmas vacation to see her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters.. so I thought she needed a journal to chronicle her trip!!

Her son is going to be in Georgia soon, and I also thought she needed a journal for her trip!!
I used some of the inside/binding paper to make the pen inserts so they'd match the notebooks!! They turned out cute!
**She saw my Florida book from our vacation and ooh'd and aah'd so much, I made these 2 for her.... LOVE to use my new cartridge!!!!!
