Happy Nurse's Day!

This design was CASE'D from another card I saw online.  I love all things brightly colored and sparkly - and loved this card from the first moment I saw it!

This card uses the new stamp set from Stampin' Up available June 1st in the new catalog.  I was fortunate enough to received it at the end of April at the Catalog Reveal event.  It was very exciting, and it's always fun to have a new stamp set to play with.

Colors?  Top down, I used Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, and Wisteria Wonder.  Each of the butterflies was stamped with the coordinating color, punched, and uses 2 rhinestones as their bodies.

I made 2 of these, almost identical, one for our Health Clerk Kathy, and our Nurse Devin.
Thank you for everything you do for us, ladies!

Stampin' Up Card Club April/May

Our April Card Club date got moved one week later, so Kathy, Robin, and I could attend the new catalog launch event during our regular club time.

It was AWESOME!  New craft items to play with, new stamp sets, new product!  We received our catalogs for 2014, and 2015... and a free stamp set!  I've already had fun using it.  You'll see a post in a few days on that card.

Two amazing cards this month for Card Club!  The top one uses lots of technique!  Sponging the card background with a fade from dark to light, hand-embossing the vellum (which I didn't do very well), some die-cut flowers, and an embossed Happy Birthday.     A very pretty card!

LOVE this card!  This technique is called an Emboss Resist.  We used the Gorgeous Grunge (one of my current favorites) and clear embossed the image on paper, sponged with Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay ink.  Then cut and adhere the squares, stamp the sentiment... punch holes using the templates, and add a butterfly!

A relatively simple card, but so stunning!

INTRODUCING Stampin' Up's New In-Colors 2014 - 2016

These colors are darker than our 2013- 2015 collection.  It seems Stampin' Up cycles through a light collection, and a dark collection every other year.  This period we move into the 'darks'.

I used three techniques on each card to show the colors.  I stamped the image in a design on the cardstock background, then stamped the same color on white, and sponged the edges with the ink.
I then used the sentiment stamp to show color-on color saturation.

I LIKE them!!

Introducing; Hello Honey

Introducing:  Tangelo Twist

Introducing:  Mossy Meadow

Introducing:  Lost Lagoon

and, last but not least
Introducing:  Blackberry Bliss

I'm not normally a big fan of green, and have come to recognize I need to use green in my paper crafting - I like the Mossy Meadow color - especially stamped on white.

Mother's Day Card - and a Surprise!

I saw a version of this card online as a girl's 21st birthday card from a demonstrator out of Australia.  It was stunning!  I made a few changes, but kept the same flavor for the card.
One of my all-time favorite stamp sets, Stippled Blossoms make amazing flowers for so many different card and craft applications!  I used Pretty in Pink (ret.) and Strawberry Slush papers and inks.  The background pieces are two Stampin' Up die cuts, one a thinlits, and one doily.
The original card has pearl accents - and I have lots of rhinestones.  They always are so nice for flower centers and sparkly accents!

When Mom was here visiting over Easter, she brought card blanks.  We ran out of time because of all the baking we did - and I took an evening and put together these 11 cards for her.
Three colors:  Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, and Melon Mambo.
Stamp set - Gorgeous Grunge!  I also used the speech bubble framelits and marker to get the outlines on the stamps with another sentiment stamp set that fit.

Now she's got a good selection of stamped cards to send when she needs them!

As Promised - A Little Later... More Thinlits Card Ideas and Examples

A few weeks ago I posted the circle thinlits cards I made for stamp club.  I took these cards along as samples for other options to make with the circle thinlits.

The base cut on these cards is only a bit different.  Instead of cutting the paper 5 7/16", turn it, and cut at 4 1/4" as in any regular card.  Lay the end over so it doesn't cut, but run the die through your machine (Cuttlebug, Big Shot etc.) only half way!  Score the remaining long piece of cardstock to fold in and make the extension flap you see in the 2nd picture.
Here's a simpler card using my favorite set - Stippled Blossoms.  I kept the outside simple, and when you open the card, there are more details.

Nephew's Birthday

Wishing my youngest nephew a VERY Happy Birthday!

Love this stamp set!  Just perfect for a 'guy' card - and his favorite colors are red and black.
Cherry Cobbler, and the Memento Tuxedo Black ink with some circle punches, and black Stickles.

"No Naked Envelopes!"  Just some extra accents on the envelope using the same stamp set.

I REALLY LOVE the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set!

May 2014 Christmas Cards

May!  2014 is flying right by...  With these 6 cards, I have 33 Christmas cards already finished!  A few years ago, that would have been MORE than enough.  This project allows me to send cards to extended family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and acquaintances.

I CASE'D this design from a card I saw on Pinterest - changed a few details, and here you go.... Ho Ho Ho!

Cherry Cobbler, Fiesta paper stack, Gumball Green (ret.), a snowflake punch I've had for a long time, and regular brads with glitter.

Do they look a little crooked?  Maybe so, but the chevron design in the background doesn't help your eyes either.  Please enjoy!

I've already got June's cards in the planning phase.  SO many ideas! :)
