2010 CD Case Calendars - Landscape!

Here are the 2010 calendars I designed, and Mom and I made towards the end of January. They just couldn't make a visit any sooner, so I finished the January/May page, and had to wait until they could clear their busy schedule!!

I had most of the cuts ready and trimmed so all we had to do was put all the pages together. It took us about a week working quite leisurely. Since this is the 2nd year we've made these, it seemed to go so much smoother and was much less stressful.

I like the designs this year much better too, which I'll contribute to another year of experience and learning techniques.
Cartridges I used:
Designer's Calendar,
Graphically Speaking
Love Struck
Lyrical Letters
Life's a Beach
Hello Kitty
Everyday Paper Dolls
I also used some stamp sets from
Stampin' Up, Hobby Lobby, and other
sources. The strawberries come from
Kitchen Sink stamps. Border punches
on many of the months are from
Martha Stewart.
Now to start looking for ideas for 2011!!!
Your comments are always welcome!

Birthday Bouquet!

This is a Birthday bouquet for a 1 year old's birthday party! His mother is a co-worker of mine, and she's totally into cupcakes! When she showed me the plates and theme for his party, I knew the sweet treats cart would be PERFECT!!!! She even had the perfect container to use for the bouquet, so I borrowed it and will give it back to her looking like this!

One unusual thing: the colors for this party are:
Royal Blue
Lime Green
and Yellow (with a little red thrown in)

I embossed each of the letters in Ryker's name with the Happy Birthday cuttlebug folder - I'm not sure if you can see it in the pictures.

The letters are from the Mickey Font cart, and all the cupcakes and the 1 for his first birthday are all from the Sweet Treats cart!

January Birthdays

My sister and her oldest son both have birthdays in January. I sent her a card, and a set of 12 cards for her Stationery Box (last year's gift) as refills. I think these are better than the first ones I sent... I hope she likes them!

These are the 'refill' cards for my sister's stationery box.

This is the card I made for my oldest nephew's birthday which is coming soon!! This cut is Cupcake4. It's going to get lots of use!!

Here's the inside view of his card.

He's doing post-grad work, so I thought the greens and browns would be good colors for his age group. Blues are always good for male cards, but I wanted to try something different. I hope he likes it!!

New Blog! GREAT stamping products!

Let me tell you about an AWESOME stamp business!

Lisa E. runs a business called StampOutOnline. She designs custom stamps at a GREAT price! You can have clear stamps, or wood mounted stamps.

All you need to do is send her what you need, and she'll make it! On the right side of my blog, you can see the Cricut stamp she made for me almost 2 years ago. I recently ordered some custom stamps from her for a project I replicate very often! I just typed up exactly what I wanted, and violá! I had them within a few days.

She just started a new blog.. and is having a contest!!!

Here's what you need to do:

1. Become a Stamp Out Online follower
2. Make a comment on this post with your funniest quote.

SO, check out their very easy rules to win... I know there's some amazing talent out there!!!!!

Good Luck!!

2010 CD Case Calendars

Here are the first 3 pages made for the 2010 calendars! Notice they're in a much different format this year.

I ordered the landscape calendars from which gives me MUCH more space to work with in the calendars. I'm able to double-mat the month along with more space for cuts from my new cartridges!

When Mom and Dad arrive for their first visit to the new house, Mom and I will get the rest of the pages finished. Right now, between gifts and DT projects, I'm working hard on getting all the cuts ready we'll need to make all the rest of the calendars.

There will be a total of 20 calendars made this year!!! WHEW!

Too Cold for Kitties!

There are a few Carolina Wrens that like to tease Sandy when he's sitting in the mini-kitty tower.. and he just gets way too intent on pouncing. It's a darn good thing he knows there's a window!

Hank just got too bored, and decided to take a nap, but there's Sandy scoping out those birds!!

Gotta LOVE the kitties!!

Christmas Eve Blizzard in Okielandia!!

I just had to post these pictures! Oklahoma had its first ever blizzard warning - they couldn't stop talking about it on the news... so we just stayed in and enjoyed the beautiful snowflakes! No, that's wrong. I should say that I enjoyed the snow... my husband certainly doesn't like the snow (shoveling) or the cold.

We ended up with 8 inches of snow when it was all over and it made everything look so beautiful!

We had a huge snowdrift on the back of the house that came up above the bottoms of the windows.... probably 4 feet in all - maybe a little more.

Now, almost 2 weeks later, we still have some of the snow left in our backyard simply because of the FREEZING temps we've had lately.
