Happy Blogoversary to Me!

I LOVE these colors!  Have you noticed?
It seems 85% of the cards I've created lately feature these colors.... Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight.

The other day I was reading a magazine (yes, I read a few) and there was a monogrammed card set using those exact colors.  I don't by any means follow fashion, but I was right-on with this color combination!

SO, it's my Blogoversary....  what does that mean?  On July 5th, 2008 I started this blog.  I don't post consistently by any means, and would like to receive more comments - but that's not why I blog. :)  Six years - that's such a long time!  Sometimes I look at some of the things I've created over the years, and remember how I made them, but it takes me a moment to realize, "Hey, I made that!"

So.... this was one of the quickest and easiest cards I've made in quite awhile.  I'm using a scrolly stamp from Heartfelt Creations in the colors listed above.... found a Happy Holidays stamp and just inked the Happy part of it for the center... and had a ribbon with some Melon Mambo.

It probably took less than 5 minutes to make.
Hope you like it!

Happy Anniversary!

Wishing my oldest nephew a very Happy Anniversary!

I saw a version of this card, and did some changing up...
The glittered base is a light blue, and everything else is a baby blue color.
Lots of punches, die cuts, and embossing as well as some ribbon.

Adhesive didn't want to stick on the glitter paper very well, so I went back and used dimensionals to keep the inchies where they belong.

Mom and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary!

This past summer the entire family was together at home in Wisconsin for an entire list of celebrations:  nephew's graduation, our anniversary, my parent's anniversary, niece's birthday brother-in-law's birthday... there were a few more, but I just don't remember right now!

Almost the entire family went up to Door County for 3 or 4 days.  We stayed at a resort, had the days to sight-see, and spend time with the family in the evenings.  It was wonderful!  Since I moved out of state right after college, this kind of family time just doesn't happen very often.

Well,  after all that, my parents were in town Friday through Sunday - and Saturday was the actual date of their 50th Anniversary!  My husband and I were thrilled we could spend it with them.

This is the card I made.
We went out to one of our favorite celebration restaurants, Carrabba's and had a wonderful dinner and some quality time grilling my parents about their wedding.  My husband loves all the little details.

This card features lots of gold embossing powder - the En Français stamp, and the 50 then crumb cake in for the sentiment and the edges on the punches and doilies.  Love the effect the doily folding gives!

I told Mom later in the evening - if they wouldn't have been on the road traveling during their anniversary, we'd have made a quick trip home to surprise them!  This was an important anniversary, and I'm just so happy we could spend it with them.

Please enjoy!

Birthday and Anniversary - Belated

We just spent about 10 days in Wisconsin with family.  It was great seeing everyone, and getting together for so many celebrations.

Unfortunately, two of them got completely away from me.... and I thought I prepared so well. :(

What did we celebrate?  1.  youngest nephew's high school graduation 2.  Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary  3.  Our 11th Anniversary 4.  Father's Day and yes, there were some others in there I've already forgotten!  One of those senior moments, I guess.

BUT I forgot my oldest nephew's wife's birthday!  We were actually in Door County for it too....  but I hadn't prepared a card... so as soon as we got home, I made this for her.

I don't use this stamp set much called "Feel Goods".  It's so appropriate for Alex's personality!  She certainly brings sunshine and smiles!!!

AND Nick (my nephew) and Alex's Anniversary is just 5 days after ours!  Since we just returned from our trip, I made this up for them.

I actually used to have terrible trouble with the Large Paper Doily die-but late the other night an idea came to me and it cut so much easier, and with much less hassle than I've had before.
I had the pearl swirls from a Hobby Lobby purchase that was just waiting for the right card.

Out on the internet is a little wood device called the 10 second bow maker.  I sent my Dad the little video so he could see it, and asked him to make one for me.  The organza bow was made with my little perfect bow maker.

Just one more little thing.  I'm interested in seeing how these pictures post... and the quality.  I just got my FIRST Smartphone, and used it to take the pictures.  Will have to see how it looks!!!

Again, Happy Birthday Alex, and Happy Anniversary Nick and Alex!!!
