Thank You Cards, and the Kitty Helper!

So do these cards look a little unusual?  Yes...  Each is one full piece of cardstock, folded to make a 'giant' card.  I made 3 - one for our Vice Principal, our Principal, and our Health Clerk.

They are this big so each of the entire 4th grade classes could sign the cards.  I designed the fronts, and placed white cardstock on both the left and right sides of the inside of the card so all the kids could sign.
This year they got a warning NOT to mess with the rhinestones!  Last year I made some similar cards, and some of the rhinestones were lost.  This year, they were all still attached!  It worked! :)
Here we have a photobomb kitty!  He just had to see.....  so there he is. :)

If you'd like to purchase any of the materials to make these cards, click on the product(s) below and you will be directed to my Stampin' Up Demonstrator site.
Thank you!

CASE'D Card

Pinterest is an amazing resource!  AMAZING!

I see so many things I want to make - food, cards, crafts, school ideas for my classroom.... the list is endless!  Yes, really endless.  I have almost 2,000 pins on 115 boards.  I kept hearing about it from friends, and didn't get on it until I knew I'd have some time - and WOW!  just like the internet, anything you can think of is there!

This is a card I saw, and wanted to play around with it.

The background is the swirl from Everything Eleanor, and the flowers are stamped in Perfect Plum, and Coastal Cabana.

Glue dots for placement and some rhinestones.... voila!  A quick, cute card.  I can't decide which sentiment to put on the front yet.  Something will present itself eventually.

Happy Birthday Card - to Me!

Happy Birthday Card

So yes, it's TERRIBLY tacky to make a birthday card for yourself....  HORRIBLE!

But, I did it.

I saw a version of this card on Pinterest, and CASE'D it pretty closely.

Coastal Cabana is the base, and Bermuda Bay makes up the top layer.
The flowers are stamped in Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I used another flower from the set stamped in Wild Wasabi to make the leaves.

This is the 2nd one I made.  The first one - I chose a center stamp that was too large.  This Birthday stamp fit perfectly!

I gave it to my husband and he finished it out and presented it to me at dinner.

Niece's Birthday!

My nephew's wife is having her Birthday today!

Happy Birthday, Alex!

For her card, I used all of our new In-Colors.  I CASE'D this card from one I saw - and made just a few changes.  I didn't notice it at first, but the flower stamps - Petite Petals have one that looks like it could be leaves!  I stamped that first on the background and adhered the flowers on top.

Colors?  With Gorgeous Grunge stamps, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, and Hello Honey.
The flowers are stamped in Blackberry Bliss, and Hello Honey.
Note:  The Blackberry is so dark I stamped off for the Happy Birthday, and used a water pen to color in the petals on the flowers and butterfly.
The other flowers are Tangelo Twist, and Hello Honey.
Rhinestones all around, of course!

As Promised - A Little Later... More Thinlits Card Ideas and Examples

A few weeks ago I posted the circle thinlits cards I made for stamp club.  I took these cards along as samples for other options to make with the circle thinlits.

The base cut on these cards is only a bit different.  Instead of cutting the paper 5 7/16", turn it, and cut at 4 1/4" as in any regular card.  Lay the end over so it doesn't cut, but run the die through your machine (Cuttlebug, Big Shot etc.) only half way!  Score the remaining long piece of cardstock to fold in and make the extension flap you see in the 2nd picture.
Here's a simpler card using my favorite set - Stippled Blossoms.  I kept the outside simple, and when you open the card, there are more details.
