Pictures of My Cricut Room!

**Click on the pics for a larger view!
This is a very picture - heavy post. I finally had my Cricut room clean enough that I felt comfortable enough to take pictures. You'll see some of my "chaos" that I've finally admitted that I must work in... but this is better now that I have an entire room.

When we bought this house, the room presented itself as a PERFECT space! It was already painted yellow, and the window placement is perfect so I have enough wall space for all my necessary "stuff".
When you enter, you come through the door just to the right of this pic. This is the east wall that holds my 8 ft. table, my Bygel rods (thanks to my friend Antonio. THANKS, my dear!!), the bird clock from my parents, and my Christmas present from my husband.. the Sony TV and DVD upconverter. Can you see the Pride and Prejudice DVD with Colin Firth? I watch it every weekend! (LOL)

Here are close-ups of some of my current projects and storage.
I've always got some Cards for Soldiers in progress, and something going
for my Lime Light Design Team of which I've been a member for 2 years.

Some close-ups of my punch storage. The Stampin Up punches have their own (mostly) permanent spots, but I rotate the Martha Stewart punches based on holidays and mood. :)

Here on the north wall you can see my Williams Sonoma shelving. I originally bought it for the kitchen in the house we were renting - but here I have an AWESOME kitchen, and love having these shelves in my cricut room. In them are stored TONS of stuff.

Stampin Up Stamps, Wheels, adhesive refills, Spellbinders, rubber stamps from lots of companies, paper stacks, baskets of cut pieces for future use, watercolor crayons, and embossing powders.

Here's a close-up of a CD holder. I am using old CD cases with a piece of magnetic strip stuck to the inside, and my Nestabilities and Shapeabilities are all organized to be found very easily!

Continuing on the North/West walls, is my old computer desk. This desk has made 4 moves with me over the past 8 years. The movers always say it can't be salvaged, but with their knowledge, my husband's banging, and my Dad's expertise, it always seems to work!!

This desk holds all of my Cricut Carts, Booklets, Overlays, and My Cricut! I've also got my Stickles box, SU color caddy, and current projects.

A view under the desk on the wall-side. I didn't know Sandy was there.. silly kitty! Here's where I keep my old stickles storage, my Blue Cuttlebug, Scor-Pal and extra tote with goodies.

Here's a close-up of my work space. The purple folder is for a MASSIVE project I'm working on now for my beloved nephew's wedding coming up soon.

On the child's play table my grandfather made when my sister and I were little is my cardstock storage. I got this wire rack when our LSS was closing. I was VERY happy!!!!

Here's the view of the room from the door. Sandy "Panda" wanted his picture taken, so I just had to show him off again. What a cute kitty!!

View of my desk from the door.

This is the south wall showing the closet door (with even MORE stuff). It's a great storage closet with a wall of shelves I'm using for longer term storage. The bookcase holds cards I've made with my stamp club, former projects, books and magazines. It's a good catch-all spot.

I hope you've enjoyed the tour of my Cricut Room!

Craft Room Organizational System!

This post is all about some of my organizational systems in my Cricut room.

First, I want it to look pretty, but I need things to be visible (or I forget about them) and 'each in his own place.'

On top of my stickles storage that Dad made for me are some cute ceramic flower pots I got on a huge sale at M's in the fall. They're handy for the Cuttlebug strip folders, my watercolor pens, a perch for my signature stamp, etc. etc.

Here is the stickles box Dad made. The top shelf holds all the colors with extra spaces I use for my Glitz stickles which sit in the back. The bottom shelf holds all my 'extras'... I stock up during August when the Scrapbook show is in town. I found the rose pulls at Lowe's, and Dad figured out a way to fit them on. Each 'drawer' pulls out so access to the colors is easy.

Here you can see the top drawer pulled out - which color do you need?

I have to tell you all about my Color Caddy from Stampin' Up. I got it on a killer deal from ebay! I'd been bidding on one for about 2 months, and all of a sudden, I got it for $35! I'm still very happy about this! I needed a better storage solution than the carrying cases I was using, and WHAT a deal!!! It's usually about $80 including all the taxes, shipping, etc. with the extensions. I love it!

Here are two tins I bought at Hobby Lobby and store my Cuttlebug folders in ABC order.

Here you can see one of them open. I store the new 5 x 7 size separately, but the A2's fit PERFECTLY in these tins.

Here is how I store my Cricut Carts. I use the Plano tackle storage. I've separated the carts by fonts, Disney/Solutions, and Shapes I and Shapes II to keep them all organzied. I write my name at the base, and the 2 (or more) letter codes we use on the Messageboard. For example: The Walk In My Garden cartridge, which I use very often is marked WIMG at the top so I can find them easier.

Since I'm now storing these in a darker location than a table-top I was using at the other house, I marked them darker on the side so finding what I wanted was easier. Here are my 4 filled containers for my carts... I have one waiting in case I need it!! :)

This is the system I use to store my booklets and overlays. I have a post showing a link to the directions to make these little folders. LINK
I have them also separated by fonts, and then all the remaining carts are in these folders in 2 other bins and 1 other photo box. The photo boxes fit the cart folders perfectly!

I'll be back soon with more pictures of the entire room itself, but I wanted to show some of my storage pieces. Dad really did an awesome job on the Stickles box!!! It was exactly what I needed.

My Craft Room! Not finished, but shaping up!

Just a short post showing 2 pictures of my craft room (in progress)!

The shelving I had in the kitchen of the house we were renting, because the pantry was in such a weird place. Here, I have an AWESOME kitchen, and more than enough storage, so my Williams Sonoma shelves can be used for my crafts... YAY YAY YAY!! LOL

My dear friend Antonio was kind enough to send me the 4 rods holding my punches. I thought 4 would be enough, and now I'm finding that it isn't even close... but I will use only these, and rotate the punches by season.

More to follow!

Cricut Booklets and Overlays Storage Solution!!! ***Update with pictures!!

I saw this post on the Cricut Messageboard earlier this week, and had to share!!! I hope lots of people can make use of this technique!!

Etha has designed a sleeve that fits perfectly in so many ways.
1. It holds both the book and overlay together
2. Each of the sleeves fits perfectly into a photo box, or crate.
3. They can easily be made in quantity for those of us that have LOTS of carts!

http://ethaschuette.com/?p=621

This is the link to her post, pictures, and diagram for MAKING these sleeves!

I am almost half done assembling the sleeves for my carts. I'll take pictures as soon as I have all of them made. It's an inspired idea!!!

So here they are all finished! It did take me 2 days with interruptions for work, cooking dinner, etc. I didn't go through all that awesome work Etha did in printing the cart names, or running a copy of the keypad on the outside... Hers are beautiful! Please go check them out.
THANKS ETHA!!

**One thing I will add - These sleeves are also large enough to hold some extra cuts! If I know I'm going to use a certain cut often, I usually make a few extra. The sleeves would be a good place to store them neatly! The snack sized Ziplock bags fit PERFECTLY into the sleeves.

Pictures on the way!!
