CK Convention Card Swap - my card!

This coming week - August 19, 20, and 21 the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention is coming to Tulsa! I've attended the last 2 years, but mostly only for shopping. This year, of course, I have shopping to do, but I joined a 'class'. It's a card swap!

For this class, you come with 20 cards, and exchange with others, and you end up with the same amount, but 20 totally different cards! We will also make an additional 5 cards with the leader showing us some techniques. I'm looking forward to learning something new. (As always.)

This is my card. I finished them this afternoon, and have them already wrapped in their protective sleeves, ready to go for this coming Friday night's class!!

Here are the (numerous) details on this card!
*Stained Glass stamp from Stampin' Up - heat embossed with black powder, and watercolored.
*Gratitude stamp from Stampin' Up - Define Your Life set in Chocolate Chip ink, and double inked with creamy caramel and close to cocoa.
*Autumn Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, double inked with Tim Holtz Old Paper, and SU Close to Cocoa ink.
*Debbie Mumm Harvest and Holiday Stack for front panel, and inside 'inchies' on the corners.
*Stampin' Up Champagne Mist paints, oversprayed on watercolored piece for more sparkle.
*Pumpkin ribbon from Hobby Lobby
*Inside orange and white papers double inked with SU Pumpkin Pie, and Close to Cocoa ink.
*Happy Thanksgiving cut from the Wild Card Cartridge - Cricut

Cards for Soldiers "Spring" Jan. 25 - Feb 19, 2010

I've been spending some time on Ebay looking for Stampin' Up stamp sets, and found this sentiment set that had lots of good sayings in many different fonts.... lots of them are shown here.

I've also recently discovered the (not new) technique of One Sheet Wonder cards! Basically, you use similar family ink colors and a stamp set to completely cover one 8.5 x 11 sheet. With specific instructions, cut apart this sheet... and make at least 10 cards from it! What an amazing idea!! Below you'll see the result of my very first solo experiment with the OSW cards.

Here is a link to the cutting template.

Here is a link to the card template to make 10 cards with the cut pieces.

I followed some of the samples for the cards, and then used some of my own ideas to come up with some new designs. I really love the Martha Stewart punches!!! I like to see how I can incorporate all those great punches with the stamped images and color schemes.

Here are most of the samples from my set of 20 CFS this time around!!

I just had to play around with the heart loops PATP punches I'd gotten. The Love comes from the Limited Edition Cricut Cartridge; Love Struck.

Get Well Cards

Here are 2 get well cards I made for a dear friend. My husband and I have a little tradition where we always get 2 cards... one a little silly, and one more sentimental. I did the same for my friend who's going through a rough time, and on top of that, had to have surgery!!!!!

SO, one of my absolute favorite images... the stained glass irises just work so perfectly with the purple paper. I emboss the outlines with lilac craft ink, and clear powder. After they're ready and cooled, I get out the watercolor crayons. It's a time consuming process, but I SO love how they look. This has to be one of my all-time favorite stamps.

For the silly card... Hello Kitty! She's so adorable, and a very sweet way to say I hope you're feeling better soon.

Your comments are always welcome and appreciated!

Stained Glass Watercoloring - WOW!

This is one of a set of stained glass stamps I received from ebay just yesterday! I couldn't resist the urge to take a break from my latest project and do some watercoloring.

I stamped the image with Lavender Lace craft ink, and heat embossed it so the edges look like stained glass. (I'm going to get some silver ink soon!)

I then used my Stampin' Up watercolors.... the Bold Brights, Soft Subtles, and Rich Regals... Earth Elements just didn't quite work with the stained glass effect, IMO. I think they'll work better with the Thanksgiving 'window' stamp.

It's not the best stamping, but I wanted to use this one to see what it looked like finished, and then decide if I needed to re-vamp any of my color choices. I LOVE it!!!!! :)

I hope you enjoy it as well.
