Thinlits Dies, and a New Technique

YES!  I'm still here....  I promise!  See?  Still here!

March 11th was my last post?  I've been quite recalcitrant about keeping up here on the blog, but I've been busy creating!

Here I've got a new technique using the Hello You Thinlits dies.
First, choose some colors - I used the same for each card:  Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Tangelo Twist, and Daffodil Delight.  Color each on the E block (I'm pretty sure it was my E block), not leaving space between.  Then spritz with water.  The one above, I didn't spritz very heavily, and got lots of dots.
Place it on your 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White, and hold it there for a moment.  Remove, and allow to dry.
Then.... cut another piece of Whisper White card stock and leave it plain.  Cut the "Happy" from both the dried stamped colorful piece, and the white piece.  I use the Dryer Sheet Technique to put the pieces back together.  Don't lose any of the pieces!  I just left them on the dryer sheets until I was ready to reassemble.

Here's another example where I colored the blocks darker and sprayed the water heavier as well.

This is one of the finished pieces, using the Painted Petals stamp set.  LOVE it!!!

Here are the products I used:

Aunt's Birthday

I've been playing with the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge lately, and I'm having way too much fun!

There are 3 main colors to this card - Wisteria Wonder, because my aunt's favorite color is purple - Wild Wasabi, and Daffodil Delight - because green and yellow both go so well with purple.  I stamped the Birthday Wishes with Elegant Eggplant.

Before punching the butterflies, I stamped the cardstock with the paint splatter to give them the same effect as the card.

After the butterflies were attached, I got out a can of gold glitter spray, and gave it a coat.

This card is going into a package with some stamp materials since Nancy always has a wonderful project when the family gets together.

Dad's Birthday

While Mom and Dad were still out and about traveling they drove down into Texas for a few days to spend some time with my cousin, and stopped back for an overnight on their way home.

In addition to spending time with them on their anniversary, they were here over Dad's birthday too!  What timing!

We went to Dad's favorite place, Billy Simms for barbecue, and then came back to the house.  Mom and I spent some time talking, and Dad watched some sports.  While Mom and I watched a movie, I made this card, and gave it to Dad right before they left the next morning, which was actually his birthday.

Please enjoy!

Flower Card - Secret Garden

This card comes from an inspiration from another blog I follow, and a new stamp set I just ordered;  Secret Garden.

The blog?  It's by another demo named Cecile Ortiz and it's in French.  I can read very little of her posts, and occasionally use Google Translate if there's something I'm really interested in reading... her work is AMAZING!  Even if you don't read French, you have got to check out her blog!!!!!
One thing I have learned, at the bottom of the page, click on Suivant> to get to the next page.

She has the most amazing flower creations from paper!  I've seen this stamp set used in her creations as well as some others, and after looking at them for quite awhile I wanted to give one of these flower creations (in 3D) a try.

I'm pretty happy with the first try, and will keep playing with this technique.  BUT you really need to give her blog a look.  It's really something!
