Birthday Cards

Here are two birthday cards I made recently.

I've been having a good time taking 'old' stamps, and using them with new punches! It seems to give them new life, and makes the cards more interesting.

I'm also LOVING the new ribbon technique! Tying bows on cards doesn't always fit with the style, but running this line of ribbon really adds something elegant to the card. I find myself using it QUITE often! Plus, you can use those small ends that can't be tied into bows, and don't fit around the card bases! :) What a great way NOT to waste the ribbon!!

I really LOVE my Kitchen Sink roses stamps! They fit perfectly for any occasion!

Christmas Gifts - Checkbook Covers and Bookmarks

A few months ago for our Stampin' Up Card Club, our Demo Kathy had these checkbook covers for us to decorate. She also had some samples of the bookmarks she'd made for us to look at.
My first though (along with some of the other girls) was 'What GREAT gifts!!'
So this is what I came up with:

This set is for my cousin's new wife Olga.

This set went to my nephew's wife Alex... she LOVES
daisies, and the color turquoise!

This set is for my sister Gail. She loves flowers and
always has cardinals out her door where she feeds them.

Sunflowers?? Has to be for Mom!!! She also sews constantly
so I thought the buttons would be lots of fun.

This set went to my Aunt Nancy... she loves kitties too!!!
and I also know how she loves purple.

I sure hoped they like the checkbook covers and bookmarks!!!

Cards for Soldiers "Spring" Jan. 25 - Feb 19, 2010

I've been spending some time on Ebay looking for Stampin' Up stamp sets, and found this sentiment set that had lots of good sayings in many different fonts.... lots of them are shown here.

I've also recently discovered the (not new) technique of One Sheet Wonder cards! Basically, you use similar family ink colors and a stamp set to completely cover one 8.5 x 11 sheet. With specific instructions, cut apart this sheet... and make at least 10 cards from it! What an amazing idea!! Below you'll see the result of my very first solo experiment with the OSW cards.

Here is a link to the cutting template.

Here is a link to the card template to make 10 cards with the cut pieces.

I followed some of the samples for the cards, and then used some of my own ideas to come up with some new designs. I really love the Martha Stewart punches!!! I like to see how I can incorporate all those great punches with the stamped images and color schemes.

Here are most of the samples from my set of 20 CFS this time around!!

I just had to play around with the heart loops PATP punches I'd gotten. The Love comes from the Limited Edition Cricut Cartridge; Love Struck.

More things for the Craft Fair!

I want to thank Mary over at the Kreates Kards blog for this idea!!

This past January, Mom and I spent 4 days assembling a dozen calendars...
Why? Because I designed a page per month! I love this idea MUCH better!
It's so much faster to put together, and looks great too!

I'm really on a monochromatic wave, I just had to take advantage of the blues.
Definitely look for more color schemes, and other decorations on the calendars!

These will go for sale in the Craft Fair I'm working towards in just about a month.
Luckily, I ordered these calendar packs months ago!

Stampin' Up Club! ~ July Project!

We got to use the new In-color... Melon Mambo! I sure love this color in person!! It's 4 places on the card, so you can see the different 'uses'. Background cardstock, the polka-dot ribbon, the larger circle with the white dotted accents, and the flowers stamped on the butterfly image are all Melon Mambo. Don't you LOVE it!!??

We also added detail by stamping a VERY light pink shadow behind the butterfly.

One of the ladies in our club requested learning the technique of using the Color Spritzer Tool.
Can you see the Chocolate Chip and Turquoise "spattered" elements on the card background? It just adds something... and is a ton of fun to do!!!

We also used the brass template to emboss the flowers on the main image. I'm sorry you can't see that here, but it's very nice in person!!

Please enjoy!!

Ultimate Twinchies - Surprise!!! 500 Butterflies

Before you even get to see my post, I want you to know that I hand-cut each one of these 500 butterflies. THEN Stampin' Up comes out with a butterfly punch!!!! UGH! LOL

I have witnessess that I hand-cut all of these butterflies! :)

Follow this LINK to join our swap!!! Our moderator needs people to fill slots for our swap!

This is my second set of Twinchies... the surprise set... so as you can see, I posted this on July 2nd, but you are not able to see it until the surprise has been sprung!!!

The butterflies are stamped with Brilliance Ink - so they shimmer: Pearlescent Orchid, Pearlescent Purple, Pearlescent Lavender, and Pearlescent Sky Blue. They are then stamped with Close to Cocoa Stampin' Up ink.

I cut the white cardstock at 1 1/2 inches, and used the corresponding ink to color the edges.

For this swap, we were to make 500 twinchies - so I made 125 of each of the 4 colors. Each member of the swap will get a baggie of the four colors in variations of 3 of one color, 3 of the second color, 2 of the third color, and 2 of the fourth color.

I hope you enjoy them! Now I miss having something to cut in the evenings while I'm watching TV!
