Quilt Series - 4

Here's the next card in the quilt series...  the color idea came from my upline Kathy, and I played around with designs and effects a little, and came up with this card.

Colors?  Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, and Tempting Turquoise.  All card colors match, with some white cardstock here and there.

I also used the Crumb Cake to ink all the hexagon edges.

The double bow is also Crumb Cake seam binding and wrapped around the white card base.  I like the rhinestones on the sentiment, and center piece vertices.

Please enjoy!

Quilt Series - Next

This card is bright and sunny!  Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, and Pear Pizzazz is a pretty great combination!

I've used the Curly Cute sentiment set a lot lately - it just seems to work well and the size is perfect for the cards.

I used two strips of Washi Tape here - the widest yellow, and the flowered pieces that come with the Gingham Garden suite.

I hope you enjoy!!

Quilt Series

There is already a post here about how hexagons are all the rage now in paper-crafting.  The thing is, they've been around for a very long time!

Crochet, quilting, etc. etc. etc.
So after looking around online, and at some other sources,  I came up with a little quilt series of cards!

Here is the first.

For this card, there are 3 colors - Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Strawberry Slush.  Each design was stamped 4 times.  The quilt piece is a 3 1/2 by 3 9/16 'square'.  Turns out the hexagons are a little taller than they are wide.  I started with the center medallion, and added the remaining pieces to complete the square.

I'm not sure why the Thinking of You looks a little tilted - possibly because of the flowers, but it is straight. :)

I have a few other quilt pattern cards coming soon.
I think the Washi tape is going to be fantastic with this technique!

Secret Garden Peek-a-Boo

This stamp set is called Secret Garden...  it's one of my new favorites.

Two main colors on this card, Pear Pizzazz, and Strawberry Slush with just a little white thrown in where it was needed.
The brown scallop behind the flower is Baked Brown Sugar.

The flowers took some time - the base flower is whole, but the top flower was cut apart at its petals, reassembled, and the center added to lift the petals even more.
I like these cards - the inside is already complete - just write your message.  It's like 2 for 1!  :)

I hope you enjoy these.  They're pretty cute!

Stampin' Up Card Club - October, 2012

 Our October Cards:

I really like this card - the extra layers really make it nice in person.  I admit I didn't choose the sentiment very well, but just went with what was on the stamp block already.  I keep the cards we make, and then reproduce them - so it's mine anyway. :)  MINE, I tell you!  (LOL)

I REALLY love this card - basically a simple design with lots of great detail.... Lacy Brocade embossing folder, En Francais background stamp, layers, stamps and die cuts, some bakers twine and a pearl.  So many basic items - but put together SO well!

Kathy, as usual did a fantastic job.
