Painted Blooms DSP One Sheet Wonders

When I first saw this paper, I fell in LOVE LOVE LOVE!

As I've said before,  I went back to the classroom full time, and it really put a CRAMP in my crafting time! That said, when I saw this paper, I really wanted to have a class and let others learn how amazing this paper is!

I don't do many classes...  this was my 2nd one, I believe.  Maybe it was the third.  I can't remember, it's been so long!

The story behind this Designer Series Paper is that this sheet was painted by a designer, and then used as 2 of the sheets in our 12x12 paper pack.

There was a tutorial on Pinterest, and I thought this would be a wonderful class for card-makers of all levels.
Above, I put the cards back in the same order as the original sheet.
Below you can see all 6 cards made with this one sheet of paper with some additions and embellishments.

More in the next post using other sheets from the DSP pack.

May Stamp Club with a Challenge!

Because of Memorial Day, our club is always moved to the first Monday in June.

These are the projects Kathy had for us.  ADORABLE - and a Challenge!

We used lots of the new products since the new catalog went live the next day.

The Ronald McDonald Charities stamp set has SO MANY possibilities!  I don't usually like them much, but this one will get used OFTEN!  It's called Sprinkles of Life and comes with a coordinating punch which makes life so much easier!

Topping the gift box is the new 'cotton paper'.  I've made many flowers, just as many from our stamp club.  This paper is FANTASTIC!  When you crunch it into shape, it stays!  You don't have to fight with it like we did with our previous method.

This card was the MOST fun!  It's a spinner card!  It took some engineering, and with some technique and know-how it looks SO COOL!
The flower spins from one side of the card to the other.  I have some videos coming on how amazing this looks in person.

Support Staff Thank-You Cards

Each year we have an event at work where we thank all of our support staff - Teacher Assistants, Student Helpers,  etc.  Without them, our job would be even harder!

This is part of my contribution to the group we were assigned to.  Turns out this year, I work with all 5 ladies, two of which I work quite closely.

Each of these cards uses the "new" Thinlits Flip card die;  labels, and circle.  I did make one big change.  I thought the cards were way too small until I found THIS video which shows how to extend the cards to give you room to write on the inside flap!  {Sorry about the ads at the beginning of the video - they are so annoying!}

Here's a view of the unfolded flap with coordinating paper decorations... and lots of room for my team to write messages.  YAY!

The entire set of 5 cards came from one paper stack:  Gingham Garden with the main colors of:  Night of Navy, Melon Mambo, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White.

I also got out the chalks, and used complimentary colors to chalk the flower embossing on the front and inside views.

Please enjoy!
Have a wonderful day.

Set of Commissioned Cards... Graduation, Thank You's

So what do you do when your nephew is graduating, your husband requests a graduation card, and the school colors are brown and white?? BROWN AND WHITE!!! Who has such colors as school colors!!!!
After some serious thought, this is what I came up with... simple, because it's for our nephew... and in brown and white.
It's a pretty straightforward card, except I used a bookmark tassel I'd purchased for making bookmarks, cut it down, and popped two circles to hold the tassel. I also added two rhinestones to the front for some interest.

here's the inside view of the card.

This is another requested card from our librarian at school. She needed one for someone who was quite artistic. I loved this layered look so much! I used Pacific Point, Black and Vanilla carstock for this card... Pacific Point ink, and the Elements of Style stamp set.

I saw this card on Jeannie Phillips website a LONG time ago... and always loved it!! I needed a card for a horticulturalist, and thought this would be perfect. I used the first cut from the Walk in My Garden Cricut Cart to cut the daisies - making many, many layers. The one daisy in the inside is a little darker yellow cardstock. All pieces are matted and inked with Early Espresso and Black. The leaves are inked in Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso.

I'm not so sure I want to give this one away... it's really something in person!!

Here's the interior view... you can see a little of the flower inside as well as the identical matting from the front. Gotta LOVE the ladybugs crawling on the leaves!

One Sheet Wonders - Thank You Cards

We just finished up our state testing this week, and had many volunteers from the community come to help us monitor testing in each of the classrooms. I made these
cards to send as Thank You cards. They gave up part of their day (or in some cases many days) to help us out at the school. These were just a small token to show how grateful we were that they could help us out.

Our principal, the other test coordinator and I each wrote a small note of thanks in the cards, and I delivered them Friday... and have just a few more to deliver this week.
