Altered Notebooks for Husband's Friend

My husband came home from work one day and told me that one of his colleagues was taking his entire family to Disney in California!

I made us a travel notebook for our last Disney trip to Florida, and it worked out really well... lots of space for writing and saving receipts, etc... so I thought I just had to make one. Finding Disney paper is never that difficult, and luckily I had these Mickeys already made and waiting for a project.
One thing I really love about these notebooks is the coordinated pen, and it's already attached so you won't always have to look for something to write with when something important happens!

These really are the perfect travel journals!!

Back from Vacation!!!

This year, we took an entire week plus a few days of driving time to go to Florida!

We stayed at our timeshare (parking is a pain in the @$$ there!), and went to Disney 2 days,

Universal Studios 1 day, 1 day we drove to Miami, 1 day to Cape Canaveral, and 2 days for spending in Orlando bumming around and shopping, touring, and visiting the GREAT restaurants!

Here are just 3 pics of the 700+ we took, and LOTS of video!!

Animal Kindom is by FAR my favorite park!!! It's so relaxing -

not stressing like the other parks can be, every cast member (in ALL the parks) is so very nice!! I think the shows and rides here are among the BEST...
This is a picture of the journal I made for the trip... a nice way to use some of my DCWV papers, my 50 States Cart, and Mickey!!! I filled almost 40 pages of things we did on our week-long trip. No wonder we're wiped out now!!

Post 2 of New "Old" Things - Shrinky Dinks!

I'm sure I wasn't the first, but I had this idea for cutting Shrinky Dinks on the Cricut! I thought Mickey was a great place to start since he's so well-known, and a nice large figure. I didn't want anything with extremely small pieces for my little experiment - wasn't sure how they'd turn out after the shrinking.
I cut the Shrinky Dink film at 3 1/2 inches, and as you can see from the last picture, they shrunk down to just an inch and a quarter (1 1/4 in.).
It was LOTS of fun, and very easy to do. They shrunk down much faster than I remember as a kid making them in the kitchen with my Mom and sister.

Get Well Card for Kids...

I started making a Get Well card for a friend, and got the Get Well Soon cut from Beyond Birthdays done in blue, yellow, and red and realized it was pretty cartoonish. I put it aside and made the purple card below.
I thought the cut was cute, so I made a Mickey to go with the sentiment. I thought this turned out really cute... even better since it was unplanned.
Both Get Well Soon and Mickey were cut at 2.5 inches. I used 3M spacers to give dimension to the saying - and Christmas Red stickles on the get well. Mickey's ears are outlined with Black Diamond stickles, and his eyes and buttons have Star Dust stickles.

Disney Cards... Mickey, Ariel, Jasmine

I do a project every 3 weeks on the Cricut Message Board called Cards for Soldiers... I signed up to do 100 cards this last challenge... WHEW! It was A LOT! I enjoyed making them, but have decided that 100 is enough when there's people helping! :) The pictures are of 3 of the Disney Characters... our theme was KIDS - no birthdays... and I know how much kids love Disney!
