A Special Anniversary Card!

Over on the Kitchen Sink Stamps blog, I found a card sketch from CPS #176 {Card Positioning Systems} (a link from my blog too) and needed an Anniversary card for my sister! What great timing.

I used the Roses stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps, and stamped the outside roses in:

Pink Pirouette,
Pretty in Pink,
Melon Mambo,
and Rich Razzleberry.


For the inside of the card, I stamped these roses in:

Riding Hood Red,
Rose Red
Purely Pomegranate
and Rich Razzleberry.

All the leaves are stamped with: Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, and Old Olive.



I used the Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink to ink the edges and add color swirls to the white cardstock so it blended nicely with the different pinks I used for background.

One Sheet Wonder and Cricut!!

Well I'm still hooked on the One Sheet Wonder technique, but I've now found a way I can incorporate some of my Cricut images!

I'm not following the templates anymore... just cutting up the sheet and making all kinds of cards with the cuts. I made 45 cards for "Cards for Soliders" over on the Cricut Messageboard. I'll post all of those here in a day or two.

I'm sending this card to my dear friend Barb. I know she'll like it!


I used Kitchen Sink Stamps for the background berries, and one of my newer carts, Preserves to cut the double strawberries. I know I'm going to LOVE that cart!!

I used Pomegranate ink on the berries, and Garden Green ink for the calyx on the berries. While at a meeting this past Thursday I doodled each of the berries. One of the ladies thought they were made out of cloth. What a nice compliment!

Five Question Friday!! Wow... Friday again!

1. Do you collect anything?

Hmmm this could be a big list!! *cookbooks, *magnets from our travels, *Cricut cartridges, *kitchen tools, *DVD's, etc. etc. etc.

2. Name 3 celebrities that you find good looking.
1. Billy Zane ~ "The Phantom" - and well, just about anything he does.

2. Colin Firth ~ "Pride & Prejudice" - and well, ANYTHING!! :)

3. Val Kilmer in "The Saint"


AND for good measure: Hugh Jackman (OMG - Gorgeous!!)


3. Do you have any scars? If so, what's the story behind it (them?)?
I have one that crosses the base of my right index finger from a dog bite when I was in 3rd grade. Thank goodness for the neighbor (Thanks, Bobby!) who walked me home so Mom could call the doctor. I was lucky I didn't lose my finger.

I have another on my left shin from somersaulting twice down a flight of steps right when I first started teaching. That time I was lucky I didn't break my neck.



4. What is a food that you like to eat, but others might think it's gross or weird?
Can't think of one for this... as I get older, my gross factor has gotten less... so I really can't eat gross things. I did used to LOVE having a sandwich made of summer sausage and peanut butter... YUMMMM!



5. Have you ever seen a tornado in real life?
Ummm I currently live in Oklahoma. Yes, saw some as a kid growing up, and now as an adult as well.

Thirty (30) Thank You's for a New Bride ~One Sheet Wonders!

When we returned from my nephew's wedding, I thought his new bride would need some Thank You cards. Doesn't every new bride need them?? So, with my new Flower-Soft to play with, I made this tag, a few sheets of the OSW's and a box for the cards!

I had an additional idea for these Thank-You's. Each card is different from the rest, with the only repeating feature as the Thank You piece itself. I took some of my OSW scraps, and used them to stamp on as well. I hope you like them!!

Five Question Friday!!

This is a new feature I found on a blog through the SITS site! I thought it was so SO cute, so I decided to play along. Here goes!!

1. What is one food you could eat everyday?
I never get tired of peaches. I could eat them always.

2. Are you working in the career you thought you would be when you were 18?
Actually, yes I am. I've thought of changing it recently, but I know I never could.

3. What is something that you wish you would have done when you were younger and you didn't?
I wish I would have gotten over things faster and not worry about what people thought.

4. What color are your kitchen walls? My kitchen walls have a very light brick wallpaper with green leaves along the top border. It works perfectly with my Strawberry theme.

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was?
I have so many favorite songs, I can't pick one even now.

Color Tutorial for Kitchen Sink Christmas Light Stamps

I am not in any way affiliated with Kitchen Sink Stamps, but I do LOVE their product line!!! The stamps are made of excellent quality clear material, and they are wonderful to use for stamp projects.

I just ordered the Christmas Lights, and have been spending some time playing with the colors. I now have worked out Stampin' Up ink colors to use to make the Christmas lights look awesome!

**Disclaimer - Yes, Stampin' Up is re-working their stamp line, and I will add some of the newer colors in this set of recipes eventually. Some of the new colors are already in these 'recipes', as you will see.

**Disclaimer #2 - Yes, this looks like an incredible amount of work - it's not! This stamping actually goes very quickly.

OK! After you have ALL that stamping done.... the only color you need now is Black!
For step 5, just stamp black for the threads and filaments. On another piece, I did add some Brilliance Silver ink to the very bottom for the threads.

My plan for this sheet? One Sheet Wonders, of course! These will make great backgrounds for Christmas cards!

Stampin' Up Club Cards - June 2010

Here are two really ADORABLE cards we made for our June stamp club.
The first card uses the new stamp set "Sweet Treats". There's a second, darker picture to show the embossed ice cream scoop.

Doesn't it look YUMMY!?





Now THIS card was some work, but turned out SO cute!!!
We used a square punch to cut the patterned Designer Papers,
then adhered them together in a patchwork pattern. Once they
were all attached, we then used the Top Note Sizzix die to cut out
the shape. Inking and added "hand" stitching really made this
come together!

Added embossing really helped enhance the quilting look to the piece.
