Stationery Box Refills - OSW Sunflowers

Since I bought my Cricut in March of 2008, whenever my parents come to visit, Mom and I plan one project to work on together. Our most recent project before this one was the CD calendars. They are very popular, and I get lots of wonderful comments from online friends as well as the people that received them. (Thank you!!)

On their way to Arizona, Mom kept saying she needed replacement cards for her Stationery Box from this past birthday, SO since I'm so stuck on these One Sheet Wonder cards, I decided to turn the daisy stamp into a sunflower. Yes, I know it sounds strange, but it really worked!

My SU rep is so wonderful!! Kathy allowed me to borrow some ink pads I don't yet have to make up the colors for the sunflowers. I borrowed her More Mustard, So Saffron, and Apricot stamps, along with the Barely Banana and Yo Yo Yellow pads I have, we turned out AWESOME sunflowers!

We stamped the darkest color first, and then just layered all the yellows with the daisy stamp from the Watercolor Garden stamp set... and use Chocolate Chip and the Soft Suede stamped twice to get nice dark centers. They really do look like sunflowers!

Mom wanted some with reds, so we stamped a total of 6 sheets (Yes, I have lots of pieces left for more cards)... and had a ball!

THEN we got out all my punches from Stampin' Up, and Martha Stewart along with having to make a Hobby Lobby run to get some turquoise ribbon, and had fun matching colors and punches with the backgrounds. The Cuttlebug bit Mom pretty good, but she'll recover! Once she had that all worked out, she did all the embossing, and sentiment choosing.

It really was LOTS of fun!!

Please enjoy our One Sheet Wonder Sunflower cards!

Valentine's Day 2010 - OSW!!

I'm still stuck on these One Sheet Wonder cards!!!
I used lots of different inks and stamp sets, all from Stampin' Up:
Yo Yo Yellow
Pink Pirouette
Riding Hood Red
Purely Pomegranate and
Rich Razzleberry
The stamp sets I used:
Love You Much
I {Heart} Hearts
Well Scripted and
Framed with Love

I didn't make all 10 cards out of the stamped sheet, so that allowed me to use some pieces I cut freely for the card insides and the punched and over-stamped pieces. Please enjoy!!

Your kind comments are always appreciated!

Cards for Soldiers "Spring" Jan. 25 - Feb 19, 2010

I've been spending some time on Ebay looking for Stampin' Up stamp sets, and found this sentiment set that had lots of good sayings in many different fonts.... lots of them are shown here.

I've also recently discovered the (not new) technique of One Sheet Wonder cards! Basically, you use similar family ink colors and a stamp set to completely cover one 8.5 x 11 sheet. With specific instructions, cut apart this sheet... and make at least 10 cards from it! What an amazing idea!! Below you'll see the result of my very first solo experiment with the OSW cards.

Here is a link to the cutting template.

Here is a link to the card template to make 10 cards with the cut pieces.

I followed some of the samples for the cards, and then used some of my own ideas to come up with some new designs. I really love the Martha Stewart punches!!! I like to see how I can incorporate all those great punches with the stamped images and color schemes.

Here are most of the samples from my set of 20 CFS this time around!!

I just had to play around with the heart loops PATP punches I'd gotten. The Love comes from the Limited Edition Cricut Cartridge; Love Struck.

Get Well Cards

Here are 2 get well cards I made for a dear friend. My husband and I have a little tradition where we always get 2 cards... one a little silly, and one more sentimental. I did the same for my friend who's going through a rough time, and on top of that, had to have surgery!!!!!

SO, one of my absolute favorite images... the stained glass irises just work so perfectly with the purple paper. I emboss the outlines with lilac craft ink, and clear powder. After they're ready and cooled, I get out the watercolor crayons. It's a time consuming process, but I SO love how they look. This has to be one of my all-time favorite stamps.

For the silly card... Hello Kitty! She's so adorable, and a very sweet way to say I hope you're feeling better soon.

Your comments are always welcome and appreciated!

Altered Notebook for a Journal!!

Bryce is a Kindergartener this year, and son of one of my very dear friends. He's a very bright precocious little boy and his Mom keeps him on his toes when it comes to school. His principal requested that he start journaling, and when Gwenn (his mom) told me, I knew we had to make him a journal.

He picked out all the papers at home - then when they came over, while Gwenn and I were talking he chose all the images, and we put together this notebook for his journal. I know he loves it already because he chose all the papers and images. :) :)

Here is Bryce (Kindergartener) and his baby brother Chase (9 months).
They are both WONDERFUL boys... showing what good parents they've got!!
GREAT job, Gwenn and Justin!

Stampin' Up Club! ~ January 2010 Projects

The kindness card uses acetate film to connect the top layer with the bottom patterned paper section. When you open it, you can see the entire stamped sentiment inside the card. It turned out really cute, and just in time for Valentine's Day!

How can I begin to say how much I LOVE this card? It has to be right up with the pheasant card as one of my favorites. The corners are punched with the new Stampin' Up corner punch... and the large purple flower is adhered over a stamped base flower for dimension. We used the 'airbrush' technique to give the white background some coordinating color, and stamped the backing sage green piece with more leaves. It turned out SO nicely!!

Kathy's really got us using lots of great card making techniques, and she tells us of many more coming this year. I can't wait!!

Altered Notebooks for Husband's Friend

My husband came home from work one day and told me that one of his colleagues was taking his entire family to Disney in California!

I made us a travel notebook for our last Disney trip to Florida, and it worked out really well... lots of space for writing and saving receipts, etc... so I thought I just had to make one. Finding Disney paper is never that difficult, and luckily I had these Mickeys already made and waiting for a project.
One thing I really love about these notebooks is the coordinated pen, and it's already attached so you won't always have to look for something to write with when something important happens!

These really are the perfect travel journals!!
