Anniversary Card

Happy Anniversary!!

My sister and brother-in-law's 18th anniversary is coming soon, so this card went out in the mail to them this week.

I hope they enjoy it!!

I used Michelle Anderson's Illuminations paper,
Cricut cart - Wedding
Stampin Up - all different pink markers to color the flowers - and Crystal Stickles for the centers. Don't you LOVE how it takes the background color?
I also used Pink Passion SU Craft in for embossing the sentiment - my sister LOVES the shiny smooth text. :)
The photo corners are Spellbinders shapeabilities... chalked and glittered.
And, I used the Scor-Pal to make the 1/2 inch spaced vertical likes along the inside of the card.

Our July Project... Lime Light Design Team and the Cancer Coaltion!

Our Design Team task for July, 2009 was to make cards and journals for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coaltion. The workers and counselors send cards to the cancer survivors, and they in turn send cards out to their family and friends. They also use journaling as a way to chronicle their journey back to recovery!

I'm a little lost for words on this one. I just hope they like the cards and the journals are helpful!!

So.... here are some pictures of the 40 items I sent out for this task.

Very Brave, and Very LAZY kitties!

I just have to share these pictures of my 2 babies!!!

Every time I'm in our 'office' working on the computer they just HAVE to come and spend time with me. So here's Hank... he just took up curling up here... all I have to do is reach down and give him a scratchy on his ear, and he's a happy kitty!!



Sandy just LOVES my feet!!! He's not one of those cuddly cats (to my dismay) but he loves feet... so he'll curl around my toes and keep them warm, and he loves it when I scratch his ears with them! Such a strange thing he is... but very adorable!!


EVERY time someone rings the doorbell, comes in from outside, or the phone rings, they RUN and hide behind my chair!! Aren't they BRAVE! LOL




There they are, hiding again! Such silly kitties!!

Altered Notebooks for my Dear Friend

My friend goes to Hawaii every Christmas vacation to see her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters.. so I thought she needed a journal to chronicle her trip!!

Her son is going to be in Georgia soon, and I also thought she needed a journal for her trip!!

I used some of the inside/binding paper to make the pen inserts so they'd match the notebooks!! They turned out cute!

**She saw my Florida book from our vacation and ooh'd and aah'd so much, I made these 2 for her.... LOVE to use my new cartridge!!!!!

Cards and Crafts for Cancer Survivors!

At the bottom of my post you'll see a link to our Lime Light site. You can also click on the logo directly to the right as well.

We are currently working on cards, card sets, altered notebooks to be used as journals, etc. for our newest project!

WHY do you ask?? It's to support a group of cancer survivors! What an amazing cause!
We are making cards for the counselors and staff members to give to the patients andcards for the patients to send to their families. We're also making journals so the patients can chronicle their own journey... sometimes talking just HELPS!

The lady we are sending the project items to also does monthly craft classes!!! HOW FUN!

I'm in the process of finishing up my items for this LLDT project... and I'll be posting them soon!!

Why is this project so personally important to me?? My aunt Darlene (Dad's sister) passed from cancer - it was a shock since the family wasn't told until very late so there wasn't much time to think. I also have a work colleague that is currently in remission YAY YAY YAY and has undergone some reconstructive surgery. We've been with her through her fight, and she's come through it very well!! She's a tough one for sure!! :) SO, working on this particular project has some quite personal meaning.

Harry Potter TODAY!

FINALLY!
I was NOT happy when they moved the date for movie 6 from last November to now... NOT happy!

So I'm going twice today... once this afternoon by myself, and then once tonight with DH. It should be so GOOD!!!!!

I always see the movie in IMAX on opening day... we've done that for movies 3, 4 ,and 5 so far... except here in Okielandia they can't get the copy of the film until NEXT WEEK! How lame is that!! Thing is, last premiere... for movie 5, they DID have a copy of the film to show on opening day. Here's the real irony to the stupidity... IT'S THE ONLY IMAX IN THE ENTIRE STATE!!!!!

Sometimes I just don't understand!

Oh NO!!!!!!!!!! My favorite restaurant DIED!

Last night we went out for dinner so my mother-in-law could have her favorite soup....

We are planning, as we always do on Friday night to have a nice dinner out - at my favorite place, Up The Creek.

Well, when we drove past last night, IT WAS CLOSED!!!!!!!!! They had a big tarp over the sign on the street (which was still relatively new) - and a note taped to the door that said they are now closed... and Guess Who's Coming printed on the tarp.

I am SO sad! I really loved the way they grilled the fish there!
The service was GOOD! The waitress we always requested was AWESOME, and management was so nice!!! The restaurant was decorated so great too... metal cattails and fish 'sculptures'.... the tables and booths were set up very comfortably... the music was GREAT!

I am SO sad!!!

Post 10 of New "Old" Things - Military Cards for the Lime Light Design Team

This post contains cards and bookmarks from October, 2008... a little shy of one year ago! I realize I never posted these on my blog.... so here they are!!

All of the above cards were to go directly to the Marines, and I wrote a personal message inside each card.

I sent an equal number of the Thanks cards and bookmarks so each Marine that got a card from me had a card and bookmark to send to a family member or friend of his choosing.

Just a little over the year ago, I was a new Lime Light Design Team member! Our very first task was Cards for Soldiers - only this wasn't just a simple task! It was a 3 fold task which made it even better.
