Christmas in July - July 5, 2014

OK, so I cheated a little bit on this one.  It's a very similar design as a card from last year's Christmas in July cards.  I just love it so much, I'm repeating the design - with just a few changes.

I used a different piece of DSP for the bow, and the star jewel is different from last year's brad.

Truth?  I'll probably make more of these during the year.

HERE is a video tutorial on how to make these punch bows.  You can see I made a few changes, but with practice, they're very easy!

Christmas in July 8

Today I have a very simple.... simple card.  BUT, I really love it!

I was checking out this website the other day, and saw this really adorable paper bow!  In the past, my paper bows have all been fails, but after looking at this picture tutorial (link below), I hit the paper bow jackpot!

Again, I'm using the retired Be Of Good Cheer DSP - but it's so pretty, how can I just leave it sit in my stash?

I also added a design-your-own brad to the corner.  These also didn't last very long in our catalog, and they're so pretty!  I used a small circle punch to cut a piece of the paper and use it as the brad center.

Isn't that bow just awesome looking?  This will definitely have to be a hand-delivered or Priority Mailed in the small box.

The cool thing about this bow?  It's oval punches, and glue dots!  I added the button just because I liked the added detail.

On my Christmas Card Challenge every month, I require the inside and envelopes completed and stamped right away... just because last year I had to go back and spend some time doing that.  As I make these cards, all the insides and envelopes are finished as well even though I'm just showing the images of the front.

Click HERE for a picture tutorial on how to make this super cute paper bow!  You absolutely won't believe how easy it is!

Please enjoy!

Birthday Cards and more...

Happy Birthday Mom!!!
Yes, a little late, but I will be seeing her soon, so I told her she had to wait for her cards... but it will be well-worth her waiting!! :)

The inspiration for this card came again from Jeannie Phillips. She's an amazing card designer from Alabama - and had some beautiful card designs on her blog.
All the background papers and cardstock are from Stampin' Up. I do love the Martha Stewart punch that makes grass!! Perfect for a flower pot base. :) The flower cut is from Walk in My Garden.

Stampin' Up has come with some new (AWESOME) punches!!! The center flowers here are from the Triple Blossom Punch. I used Daffodil Delight and Concord Crush for my colors... I do love purple and yellow together!! The ribbon is also 5/8" satin in Daffodil Delight. Rhinestones seemed the perfect addition for the flower centers.

Father's Day, 2011

Our upline Stampin' Up Demo Kathy had this card for us at our May Stamp Club... it was SO SO CUTE! I was "done" for the night before this optional card came up, so I got the measurements and put some together this week.
When I got home, and looked at Splitcoast, I found the version Kathy used as her inspiration... but felt that it was WAY too busy!! The one Kathy came up with was MUCH better... and I just added the grass from my MS punch.

I know my sister will be thrilled with this when she sees it... she LOVES the heat embossing and the shiny surface it gives! :)
